When we moved to Türkiye almost 11 years ago, household pets were not common. The only cats and dogs we saw were the ones in the street. Fast forward to today when house cats peeking out of windows or sweater-vested dogs walking on a leash with their doting owners are an everyday sight. With the growth in popularity of house hold pets has come an increase in businesses providing services for them. We hope to add to this post in the future, but for now we want to highlight three of our favorite resources for pets in the Antalya city center. Read on to learn about our favorite pet supply store, our current choice for a pet groomer, and our highly-recommended pet sitter.
Pet Supply Store
Liman Pet Shop
Located on the Konyaaltı side of town, Liman Pet Shop is a treasure trove of everything you might need for your cat, dog, bird, hamster or lizard. Speciality food, shampoo, leashes, collars, doggy and kitty outfits, waterproof booties, chew toys, balls…. the list goes on and on. Our spoiled Shih Tzu’s dog food of choice is difficult to find anywhere else, but they always have it in stock at Liman Pet Shop.
Because it is located in a foreigner dense part of town, the prices at Liman Pet Shop might be a little higher than some other places, but we think what they offer in selection and quantity makes it worth the price. And, compared to what we have seen online, the prices seem reasonable.
One of our favorite things about this pet friendly store is the real-life iguana that serves as a greeter on warm, sunny days. Just seeing this beautiful creature up close makes a trip to the store worth it, in our opinion.
The staff are helpful and go out of their way to help you find what you are looking for without pressuring you into making purchases you don’t want. They are also knowledgeable if you have questions about most things pet related.

Pet Grooming
Glam Paws Pet Saloon
Glam Paws Pet Saloon has 54 Five Star reviews on Google and there is a good reason why: they are excellent at what they do. This pet groomer is on the Lara side of town and is our favorite place to take our Shih Tzu. We have tried several different places, but Glam Paws is the only one that can get our claustrophobic dog to let them cut the hair on his face well. They seem to truly enjoy the animals that come in the shop and Finley always gets excited to see them when he goes.
In addition to haircuts, Glam Paws also provides coloring, nail polish and other accessories at your request. It is a one stop salon to make your pet look its best.
Prices seem to be comparable to the other businesses we have tried and are totally worth the professional service they provide. We do recommend calling well in advance (2-3 weeks ahead) to schedule an appointment as Glam Paws is a popular business.

Pet Boarding
Ibrahim”s Pet Pansiyon
We can’t always take Finley with us when we travel because there are not as many pet-friendly hotels and villa rentals in Türkiye as other countiries. So, we were grateful when our friends recommended Ismail’s Pet Pansiyon located not far from Döşemealtı. We are hesitant to put his name out there because we love the service and peace of mind that he provides, but we also know in this transient community people are always looking for quality short-term boarding for their pets.
Now retired, Ismail spends his days caring for dogs and cats in his home. He is passionate about animals, so much that he works to rescue street animals and find loving homes for them. And, he LOVES on our Finley while we are away.
With a large garden and free-standing villa, Ismail’s space is plentiful and allows pets to get much needed outside time, as well as a warm and safe place to sleep. The first time we left Finley with Ismail he let us bring him out a few days before just to run around and get used to the place before leaving him for our trip. Since then, Finley is always excited to see him, and it is so fun to get pictures and videos from Ismail throughout his stay there.
If you cannot get your pet to Ismail, he offers a pick-up and delivery service for an extra charge.
